About this program
Alam Atelier - Bali is a nature-based early childhood learning program set upon the lush rice fields of Canggu, Bali. The school practices an emergent curriculum that weaves together the social constructivist pedagogy of Reggio Emilia, the wisdom of Nature Education, and creative inquiry-based learning. Founded with the yearning to extend learning outside the classroom and connect learners with the natural environment, Alam Atelier creates experiences filled with joy, creative exploration, purposeful play, and wonder. The beach is less than a kilometer away, offering additional opportunities for nature-based discovery. The school buildings beautifully reflect local Balinese culture, with learning materials sourced from the community to support local artisans. The philosophy centers on believing that children are strong, capable, and competent learners who thrive when surrounded by joy and wonder.
