About this program
Andrew Fleck Children's Services (AFCS) is one of Ontario's oldest and most diversified early learning, child care, and family support organizations, operating since 1911. Originally incorporated as The Ottawa Day Nursery Inc. in 1920, the organization was renamed in honor of benefactor Mrs. Andrew Fleck, who donated their building at 195 George Street in 1932. As a registered charity since 1967, AFCS has grown into a comprehensive multi-service provider based in Ottawa, Ontario. The organization offers a diverse range of programs including licensed early learning and child care, licensed home child care, EarlyOn Child and Family Centre, short-term child care, Children's Inclusion Support Services, an Ottawa Forest Nature School, and innovative intergenerational programming. What makes AFCS unique is its commitment to high-quality, multicultural, inclusive early learning in a nurturing environment that respects each child's individual needs. Their philosophy centers on the right of every child and family to receive the highest quality care possible.
