About this program
Good Dharma International School is an Oxford International certified school with a strong sustainability focus, set on a two-acre organic vegetable farm in Ahangama on Sri Lanka's southern coast. Founded by a group of expat friends who have lived in Sri Lanka for over a decade, the school was created to offer a learning environment where children can grow in harmony with nature and community. The school believes nature is the perfect classroom, nurturing the social and emotional development of each child. Through outdoor exploration, hands-on activities, organic gardening, and ecological philosophy, students become stewards of nature. The curriculum follows Oxford International standards while maintaining a student-led, child-centered approach. The name "Good Dharma" reflects the school's ethos: play, learn, grow. Children are immersed in the entire process of growing vegetables—from seed to harvest—and participate in preparing meals in the home-style school kitchen using produce from their own garden.
