About this program
Kids Go Wild is an OFSTED-registered Forest School serving Stockport and Greater Manchester, offering a unique opportunity for children to learn and grow in the great outdoors. Founded by Nicky, who was inspired by Scandinavian forest schools during her studies, the program has been running since 2018 and provides nature-based education across multiple woodland locations. The school operates from two main sites: Dane Bank Green Space in Denton (housing the outdoor nursery) and Reddish Vale Country Park (for home education groups). Both locations feature rich natural environments with ponds, wildlife, outdoor classrooms, mud kitchens, hammocks, and campfire areas where children can explore freely. What sets Kids Go Wild apart is its commitment to the six principles of Forest School ethos—child-led learning, regular outdoor sessions, qualified practitioners, supported risk-taking, holistic development, and community building. As a trauma-informed setting, they welcome children of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with SEND needs.
