Madrid Active School is an international school located in the center of Madrid, Spain, founded through the collective effort of families and education professionals seeking an alternative educational model. The school has operated since 2010, first as the Nidia project, then rebranded as Madrid Active School. The school is based on active pedagogy, where children learn by doing and are the central element of the learning method, with their interests, abilities, and individual characteristics guiding their education. Key values include Respect, Inclusion, Responsible freedom, Trust, Participation, Commitment, Openness, Sustainability, and Enthusiasm. Madrid Active School is authorized as a U.S. foreign school by the Community of Madrid and is the first active school in Spain accredited by the prestigious New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
