About this program
Michael Hall is the oldest and largest Waldorf school in England, founded in 1925 and located on the beautiful grounds of Kidbrooke Park in Forest Row, East Sussex. With nearly a hundred years of experience, the school actively educates over 400 pupils using the Waldorf approach based on the pedagogical insights of Rudolf Steiner. The school's philosophy centers on developing well-balanced individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Michael Hall combines rigorous academic education with the cultivation of impressive human qualities, aspiring to develop responsible, creative, and free-thinking young people who will contribute with vision and purpose to society and a sustainable environment. The curriculum responds with three overarching purposes: developing clear thinking and analytical skills, inspiring motivation and perseverance to fulfill aspirations, and cultivating an appreciation of beauty that enriches students' inner landscape. As part of an international community of Waldorf schools, Michael Hall remains at the forefront of contemporary education through themes of innovation, enquiry, self-reflection, and creativity.
