Traveling Village is an ambitious experiment in community travel, uniting approximately 20 digital nomad families for multi-month co-living and co-traveling journeys across the world. Founded by Michelle and Nikolaj, two parents who dreamed of combining the freedom of nomadic travel with the stability and support of village life. The concept originated in 2017 when the founders were expecting their first child, recognizing that while traveling with children is amazing, it requires substantial support—particularly the social element and sense of stability that isolated family travel often lacks. After years of planning, the first Traveling Village launched in 2024. Featured in BBC and Fodors, Traveling Village has become a model for families seeking to experiment with lifestyle, challenge themselves, and learn more about living differently with children. The project demonstrates that it truly takes a village to raise children, even—and especially—while seeing the world.
