About this program
Wild Child Playgarden & Wildschooling is a bilingual, nature-rooted, heart-centered learning community based in Nosara, Costa Rica, designed specifically for worldschooling, unschooling, and homeschooling families. The program serves families from around the world who are reimagining education together, offering flexible options ranging from single-week stays to year-long enrollment. Founded on the principle that education should not separate children from life but root them more deeply within it, Wild Child integrates multiple holistic pedagogies including Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, Forest School, Summerhill democracy, and Indigenous wisdom traditions. The program reimagines school through rewilding and regenerative education, understanding learning as embodied, creative, relational, and responsive to life as it unfolds. With Costa Rican Waldorf-certified lead teachers and international supporting educators, the school serves up to 35 children daily, providing the reliability of year-round programming while maintaining flexibility for traveling families navigating different cultures and ways of life.
