About this program
Asheville Farmstead School is a nonprofit institution located on 25 acres of forested land in Candler, North Carolina, about 20 minutes west of downtown Asheville. Since its founding in April 2016, the school’s mission has been to connect children and families to the natural world, sustainable food sources, and the complexities of agriculture through outdoor, hands-on learning. Asheville Farmstead is one of only seven internationally accredited Cedarsong® Way Schools, recognized for a compassion-based, nature-immersion pedagogy rooted in kindness, respect, and emotional intelligence. Children at Asheville Farmstead School benefit from a community-oriented, inclusive environment, with a focus on life skills, academic development, and environmental stewardship. The school offers a holistic, nature-based curriculum that encourages curiosity and lifelong learning, supported by a team of dedicated educators and a commitment to fostering empathy, self-confidence, and a love for the earth.
