About this program
Børn of the Forest is a family-run project located in a beautiful 3.5 acre woodland site near Harrogate, UK. Established by Vikki and Chris Silverwood, and supported by a highly qualified team, the project was inspired by their global travels witnessing children playing freely in nature. Their vision is to create a 'classroom without walls' where children experience the awe and wonder of the natural environment, fostering confidence, creativity, and resilience. The team at Børn of the Forest is passionate about providing open-ended, child-initiated play to enable children to connect deeply with nature. Their unique outdoor setting is exclusively used by the group and designed to encourage curiosity, imagination, and creativity. Sessions are led by qualified Forest School leaders with backgrounds in early childhood education, special needs provision, and therapeutic outdoor leadership.
