About this program
Chevin Forest School, founded by Amanda Newham in 2016, offers inspiring, learner-centred experiences for children in natural woodland environments. Amanda brings a background as a primary school teacher and Forest School leader with OCN Level 3 accreditation and has a strong history of supporting children’s learning and in-service training for educators. The school supports families in Otley and surrounding areas with a variety of hands-on nature-based opportunities. Sessions are run by qualified professionals using Forest School principles, which emphasize regular interaction with nature, developing confidence and self-esteem, and fostering positive relationships with the environment. Learning takes place across several outdoor sites, including Chevin Forest, Gallows Hill, and Gledhow Valley Woods.
