About this program
Community Farm School (CFS) is a nature-immersion preschool and kindergarten located at Clark Farm, a historic working farm at 185 Concord Street in Carlisle, Massachusetts. The school reimagines early childhood education through a deep connection to nature, farming, and play-based learning. At CFS, the child IS the curriculum. The school is guided by children and nature in all activities, providing opportunities for math, science, literacy, art, music, and more through outdoor exploration. The philosophy rejects one-size-fits-all approaches, instead nurturing each child's individual passion for learning. Founded on principles of ecological literacy and the belief that children learn best through direct, hands-on interaction with nature, CFS celebrates the joy of discovery—climbing trees, planting seeds, caring for animals, and building community through shared experiences on the farm.
