About this program
Down to Earth Project is an award-winning social enterprise founded in 2006 and based in South Wales. Their mission is to create positive change for people and the planet through meaningful and relationship-centred outdoor experiences. They support people who are often on the margins of society, promoting inclusivity and tackling both inequality and sustainability at the same time through practical, hands-on activities. The project operates from sustainably built, hand-crafted centres on the Gower peninsula, providing opportunities to learn, connect with nature, and engage in community-led regeneration. Their approach has been praised for its effectiveness in increasing quality of life, well-being, and confidence for participants, as well as offering practical, solutions-based learning that is embedded in sustainability.
