Everlasting Education

About this program

Everlasting Education is a fully outdoor, nature-based elementary school and enrichment program located in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic by public school teacher and environmental educator Michael Galano, the school emerged from a vision to provide safe, meaningful learning beyond traditional classroom walls. Everlasting Education is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and aligns its curriculum with California Department of Education standards while embracing innovative outdoor teaching methods. The educational philosophy rests on four core pillars: constructivist classroom practices centered on student-led inquiry, place-based learning rooted in local ecology and cultural history, daily nature connection that sparks wonder and environmental stewardship, and social-emotional learning emphasizing kindness, communication, and confidence. The school offers both a year-round TK–5th grade elementary program and seasonal nature connection programs including summer camps, backcountry trips, and school break camps for families seeking alternatives to traditional schooling.
