About this program

Firefly Forest School is a bilingual (English-Thai) nature-based school located in Ladprao Soi 35, Bangkok, Thailand. Founded in 2021 by Mama June, the school emerged from a mother's vision to provide her son with an education rooted in outdoor exploration and experiential learning rather than traditional classroom settings. What began as a small homeschooling gathering in Suan Rot Fai (The Train Park) has grown into a full forest school serving children from 1.5 to 8 years old. The school's philosophy is deeply influenced by Charlotte Mason's educational approach, believing that "Education is an Atmosphere, a Discipline, a Life." Firefly emphasizes that children learn best through living experiences—feeling grass, asking questions, and growing at their own pace. The campus features outdoor classrooms where trees, gardens, and natural elements serve as primary teaching tools, with indoor air-purified spaces available for extreme weather or poor air quality days. The school's 15 core values include human essence, resilience, creativity, interconnectedness, and joyfulness, nurturing the whole child rather than focusing solely on academics.
