About this program
Footprints on the Moon Forest School and Nursery is located in the beautiful setting of Plessey Woods, Northumberland. It is a Forest School and Nursery for families who love to explore, using the natural environment as its classroom. The school follows a holistic, child-centred approach, aiming to help every child thrive regardless of age, ability, or background by nurturing better communication, self-confidence, and resilience. Sessions are led by qualified practitioners with experience spanning early years to secondary education, environmental studies, bushcraft, horticulture, foraging, First Aid (including outdoor FA), enhanced DBS, and SEND leads. The mission at Footprints on the Moon is to create a nourishing environment where every child grows in connection with nature. The ethos is built on respect for oneself, others, and the environment, encouraging curiosity and self-trust. Through regular, outdoor hands-on experiences, children can explore, build, create, and foster a deep connection with the natural world. For more information, families can contact the team directly.
