About this program
Forest Schools Birmingham is a multi-award-winning, non-profit organisation founded in 2004. It was established to meet the rising interest in quality outdoor learning and Forest School provision in urban environments. With a presence across Birmingham, Worcester, Dudley, Shropshire, Wolverhampton, and the wider West Midlands, the organisation supports childhood mental health and addresses the climate emergency through hands-on environmental experiences and education. Forest Schools Birmingham CIC has gained recognition as Non-Profit of the Year and Business of the Year. The team, led by Director Afric Crossan, is passionate about fostering a strong, healing bond between children and nature. They have been actively involved in tree planting, having planted over 80,000 trees in the region, and continue to advocate for environmental awareness and mental wellbeing.
