About this program
Forest Time Kindergarten & Forest Homeschool is the first forest school in Northwest Ohio certified by the Eastern Region Association of Forest & Nature Schools. The school welcomes children ages 3 to 13, inviting families to explore a nature-based education model popular across Europe. Classes are held almost exclusively outdoors, and children are encouraged to learn through play, exploration, and interaction with the natural environment. Forest Time’s mission is to nurture a lasting love of learning and the outdoors, believing a nature-rich, playful, and child-centered experience sets children up for lifelong success. Forest Time proudly highlights research-backed benefits of forest schooling, noting improvements in critical thinking, standardized test performance, and fine and gross motor skill development. The school supports the full developmental needs of each child: physical, cognitive, and social-emotional. Families interested in the program may request more information or book a drop-in class before enrolling to experience forest schooling firsthand.
