About this program
Southeast Michigan Forest School is a nature-based enrichment program for homeschooling families. Founded in 2020, the school began as a community of families gathering weekly to connect outdoors, and quickly grew to offer both drop-off classes and family programs. The school’s mission is to help children and parents find community while fostering a sense of wonder and connection to the natural world. Classes, camps, and family events are held outdoors at parks such as Maybury State Park and Plymouth Township Park. The team includes experienced leaders dedicated to encouraging slow, intentional living and play-based learning in the forest. The school operates year-round, with some programs running through all seasons and others taking scheduled winter breaks.
