About this program
Hand-In-Hand Nature Education is an outdoor educational program serving the Comox Valley and Campbell River regions of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The organization creates an outdoor learning environment where children feel safe and comfortable while playing, learning, and connecting in nature. Following the Forest School Model established by the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada (CNAC), programs are child-led and nature-based. The philosophy centers on direct, hands-on interaction with the natural world. Nature parks across Cumberland, Comox, Courtenay, and Campbell River serve as living classrooms that foster understanding and appreciation of nature through direct experiences. Hand-In-Hand has been featured in CBC, Explore Magazine, Shaw TV News, Island Parent Magazine, and local media. The organization respectfully acknowledges operating within the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks and Wei Wai Kum Nations.
