About this program
Camano Forest School is an outdoor, nature-based school located on Camano Island in Washington State. Guided by a philosophy that values nature as a primary teacher, it operates all-weather, year-round outdoor education programs for children. The school’s mission is to nurture the deep connection between children and nature, fostering resilience, creativity, confidence, and community stewardship. As a parent-run cooperative, Camano Forest School combines the talents of experienced educators and actively involved parents to create a nurturing, community-centered learning environment. The school is supported by the Camano Outdoor Education Association (COEA) and collaborates with Skagit Valley College’s Family Life program.
