Internationally recognized for its leadership in nature connection and wilderness education, the school is based in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, about 45 minutes from Seattle, WA. Its mission is to help children and adults cultivate healthy relationships with nature, community, and self. The school offers both youth and adult programs, as well as a range of intensives, weekend, and weeklong experiences. The school’s educational philosophy, Coyote Mentoring, encourages creative and critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-sufficiency by using nature as a teacher, storytelling, and the art of questioning. Core offerings include award-winning summer camps, ongoing youth programs, and transformational adult courses in naturalist, survival, and ancestral skills.
