About this program
The North Central Co-op Oak Leaf Forest School in Winnetka, IL, offers a mixed-age, play-based drop-off program for children, situated completely outdoors at Crow Island Woods, a 17-acre nature area managed by the Winnetka Park District. Classes are run by experienced Waldorf educator Elizabeth Kelly, with support from involved parents, and are moved indoors to the Winnetka Presbyterian Church only during severe weather conditions. The program emphasizes outdoor learning and community within the forest setting, providing children with a unique opportunity to engage with nature in all seasons. Registration is managed through the Winnetka Park District, and the school encourages families to reach out for more specific information about readiness and enrollment.
