About this program
Campus da Terra is a nature-immersed homeschooling hub on the island of Madeira, Portugal, designed for homeschooling and worldschooling families with primary school-aged children. The project combines guided curriculum support with child-led exploration, allowing children to shape their own educational journey while benefiting from a supportive community of peers and facilitators. The program operates through Associação Aprendizes da Terra, a non-profit association. Through hands-on learning experiences and outdoor activities, the campus nurtures curiosity, creativity, and a deep connection with nature. The goal is to cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, and a profound sense of care for the planet. Located in Gaula on Madeira's southern coast, the campus offers the perfect setting for outdoor education with the island's year-round mild climate and spectacular natural landscapes providing an endless classroom for exploration.
