Outside the Box (OTB) Learning Laboratory is an alternative PK-6 school located in Brasilito, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. What began as a one-year educational experiment has evolved into an extraordinary learning community committed to humanizing education through meaningful relationships and self-discovery. The school's guiding philosophy centers on fostering natural curiosity, supporting students through facilitators rather than traditional teachers, and building a strong classroom community where everyone feels safe and valued. OTB distinguishes itself through its innovative station rotation model, highly quality bilingual program, and dedication to socio-emotional learning. Located in Plaza López y Flores in Brasilito, the school maintains intentionally small class sizes with a maximum of 8 students, allowing for truly individualized attention and tailored curriculum adapted to each child's learning styles and needs. The program emphasizes empathy, kindness, and compassion while preparing students with 21st century skills for a globalized world.
