About this program
Quintral International School is a nature-based learning community nestled in the stunning landscapes of Patagonia, Argentina, near Bariloche. Founded in 2022 by educators Rochelle Comeaux and Carolina Peredo, the school draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of ikigai—helping each child discover their unique "reason for being" at the intersection of passion, talent, and purpose. The school takes its name from the Quintral, a native Patagonian plant whose survival depends on harmonious relationships with other species—a powerful metaphor for the interconnected learning community the founders envision. As a nature-based international institute, Quintral welcomes families from around the world and operates as a bilingual environment in English and Spanish. Quintral positions itself as more than a school—it's a place where young change-makers develop into balanced, informed, and empowered global citizens through passion, humility, curiosity, respect, and empathy.
