About this program
Pequena Ilha Verde is an association dedicated to Neohumanist education, created to address the need for a more holistic approach in childhood learning. Based in rural Portugal, the project fosters an environment where children can express themselves and build interconnected relationships with both nature and people. The school combines principles of Neohumanist education and forest school philosophy to support each child’s full potential, emphasizing compassion, ethics, ecology, and self-development. Families are welcomed into a community focused on holistic growth, where programs are run by experienced educators such as Dalila Lucas, Justine Pissarra, and Margareth Arndt. The school's approach encourages meaningful connections and aims for ethical harmony in both social and environmental realms. For more information, visiting the school in Ourondo, Castelo Branco, or contacting them directly is recommended.
